Waterfowling at it's finest! We are situated in the Prairie pothole nesting area and are fortunate that we own two of the area's major roosting sloughs, over two dozen muskrat potholes, beaver dams and riverfront with multiple islands. We have various duck species and Canada geese nesting right on the farm so we don't have to rely on a migration of birds. Clients have harvested geese and ducks decoying and pass shooting right at the cabin door! The big migration of northern birds is hard to predict due to weather and farming practices, but at the right time, the sky, fields and sloughs turn black with birds. You truly have to see and hear it to believe it!

The hunt is typically over in a matter of minutes and clients soon learn they can hold out for only Mallard drakes or look for the elusive banded birds when you are in the middle of it all. We hunt mostly on neighboring cereal grain stubble fields and try to leave the main roosting areas alone, but we definitely have options if you want to drop the birds over water. We have a trailer load of fold-out blinds, robo-ducks and geese, full bodies, floaters, field shells, silhouettes, windsocks, flags and an electric plucker ready to go!

You can be picked up at the Winnipeg Airport or rent a vehicle or drive your own to the farm. All hunts are 7 days, Sunday to Sunday unless pre-approved. Deer & Bird hunting can be combined into a package deal when seasons allow. During your stay you will have a full time help & guiding services . we are located 1/2 hour from Brandon which will have your extra supplies or recreation. We can make arrangements for your taxidermy needs or you can ship it home with you.

Retriever is also now available upon prior arrangement

Upland game bird rise and fall in population cycles but we have the right habitat and even on bad years we can always flush up a limit of birds if your legs will last! It is truly a pleasant way to spend an afternoon after you tag out or to just break up the monotony of sitting on a stand or duck blind.
Ruffled Grouse are found in the ravines full of oak, elm, ash, birch, chokecherry, saskatoon, cranberries, etc. Their drumming is pure music on a spring night. Ruffies have been seen and harvested from the front door of the cabin!

Sharp tails & Hungarian Partridge coveys explode into the sky in the native grass pastures, grain stubble fields and old fencerows and abandoned yard sites. It takes some strolling to find them but once on them you have a chance of multiple flushes.
