A beautiful little cabin located right on the Souris River, 30 minutes south of Brandon Manitoba.  The cabin is located on a privately owned cattle operation that stretches over 2000 acres, and is approximately 3/4 mile from the main farm house.  When you book you are the only people on the cabin site and completely secluded....Its a must see spot.  A turn off the gravel road onto a grass road takes you to the top of a hill where you will park.  You are welcome to bring your off road vehicle or we can hall all your gear down for you.  If you are wanting to take off to Brandon or any other sites, a short hike up a hill will get you back to your vehicle.  An off the griders dream, the cabin is powered by solar and propane, but has everything you will need for a comfortable quiet retreat.  With the "bunk house" only 20 feet away from the main cabin, this property comfortably sleeps 8, two queens in the cabin loft and two queens in the bunk house.  Both have wood stoves to keep you warm on a cool night.  The main cabin has a fridge/freezer, grill top and plenty of counter space to prep your meals.  There is also a BBQ and two burner cook top outside on the deck.  There is a full 3 piece bathroom in the cabin for a nice hot shower at the end of the day.  With a big beautiful deck on the front of the cabin you will have plenty of room to enjoy your coffee while taking in the view.  If  you like your tunes there is a stereo with speakers wired in that you can sync you phone too so you can enjoy your music, as well as a tv/dvd player and games to keep you entertained on those rainy days.  We also have a great fire pit area for you to enjoy with an outhouse close by so you don't have to walk back to the cabin.

Our Cabin

The smaller list is "what isn't there to do"

Canoe/Kayak

We have canoes and kayaks available to use.  You can send off right at the cabin and we can arrange to pick you up at the "Margaret Bridge"  or if you are wanting to go further we can arrange an alternate drop off or pick up point.  If you are wanting to make use of the canoes or kayaks you MUST bring your own life jackets.  Please let us know before you arrive if you are wanting to make use of them so we can be sure to have them down at the cabin.

Fishing

The cabin is very close to some great fishing spots, give us a call to see whats close.

Also, you are right on the Souris River so dip a line and see what you can find.  The Souris River offers a variety of species.  We have a fish cleaning station right by the cabin so you can clean and cook your catch.  If you forget your rod and would like to toss a line into the river we keep a couple rods at the cabin just in case.

Equestrians

The property is a 5 minute drive from the Souris River Bend Wildlife Management Area which offers beautiful groomed Equestrian trails.  Click Here to see the equestrain trails map.

There are small corrals boarded off between trees right by the cabin which will offer your horse shade on hotter days and with the cabin right on the souris river, you can easily water your horse.  If you are not comfortable with the river water you will have to bring your own water and we also ask that you bring your own hay.

Hiking

Again the property is a 5 minute drive from the Souris River Bend Wildlife Management Area with trails for equestrians or hiking.  If you don't feel like driving there, you are on 2500 acres of trails from us quading and cows packing trails everywhere, you are welcome to tour the farm.

Sledders

These trails in the Souris River Bend Wildlife Management area are also open to sledders in the winter months.

We will have the bunk house only available during the winter months and as mentioned above there is an outhouse close by.

Quading

If you do bring your ATV, we can take you on a tour of the farm but we don't allow quading.  There are too many gates and cows in pasture that it's not worth the risk for us.  The closest designated quad trails to us are in Spruce Woods which is approx 45 minutes north east of us.

Quading Spruce Woods

Geocaching

There are 8150 geocaches in Manitoba, and yes, there are some close to us.......come and find em.

Bird/Wildlife Watching

There are many great birdwatching areas and wildlife parks close by or, take a walk around the farm.  We are home to many beautiful wildlife, fox, coyotes, deer, and many birds as well as a nesting pair of bald eagles.  If you would like we can even put you up in a tree stand for a while.

Shopping

As mentioned above we are only 30 minutes from restaurants, shopping, and all other city amenities in Brandon Manitoba
